Phantogram - Don’t Move
I feel like shit. I’m not sure why, but this is is just a bad day in a string of manic 24 cycles of up and down. I do, however, consistently underestimate the ability of a good new song to make me feel better. This is a bit of a departure for Phantogram (Mouthful of Diamonds, When I’m Small), but the chopped samples stutter along like a marionette at midnight. It’s strings were cut, just got a kiss from a pretty girl, nobody sees the painted face. My analogies get increasingly out there as my mood becomes incomprehensible, but I can’t shake the appeal of “All I know how to do is shake shake shake / Keep your body still, keep your body still.” She says ‘I’m not your fortune teller’, but she is.
